Frequently Asked Questions

Our service is much different than other services provide for visitors to Disney or Universal Studios. We know you have questions about our services. We’ve attempted to compile a list of all the most common questions asked of us.

What is a Mouse Sherpa?

Mouse Sherpa is a service that allows you to hire a theme park assistant. Their responsibilities range from carrying your belongings, to actually watching your children when you ride, or even when you go out at night. Many of our sherpas offer night time child services.

Is this for real?

MouseSherpa.com is real. These are real people, making a real difference.

Do I have to pay for their admission to the parks?

No. Each of our Sherpas has an annual pass with no block-out dates, making them widely available for anyone’s theme park vacation.

Can I use their annual passholder status for discounts and parking?

No. It is strictly forbidden for you to use their annual passholder services. This includes food purchases, parking, and merchandise purchases.

Do you do background checks on your employees?

Absolutely. We take you and your family’s safety seriously. Each employee has an extensive background check done and is interviewed by former CIA and FBI agents. We hire no one if they have any kind of negative mark on their background checks. Health checks are also done every 2 months to ensure our employees are strong and healthy. Copies of their background profiles are available upon request.

Are the Sherpas paid fairly?

Our base pay for a Sherpa is $15.00/hr. A portion of that is held back in escrow to protect us from them leaving the company before their annual pass expires. Once their escrow account meets the cost of the annual pass, we stop collecting the holdback amount. At the end of the year/pass renewal date, we give them the full amount in their escrow account. Again, this is to protect our investment in them as we cannot transfer the annual passes to another person.

What about food and breaks?

Part of our agreement requires the renter to provide a meal and a snack for every 4-hours of work the Sherpa provides. The Sherpa is allowed to bring food with them, and can opt not to request anything from the renter. Each of our Sherpa’s has a favorite snack on their profile page. While enjoying their snack, we request that the renter allows their sherpa to take a break.

What kind of things will they carry?

Your Mouse Sherpa will carry anything that can be carried comfortably in the park. This includes packages, small coolers for drinks, food, or medicines that need to be kept cold, bags, duffle bags, backpacks, camera bags and more.

Will they watch my child while my spouse and I go on a ride?

Yes! There’s no need for the “baby swap”, as your Sherpa will watch your child and allow you to enjoy various rides with age and height requirements. The goal of our program is to allow you to get the most out of your vacation.

What about child-care services at night?

Some of our Sherpas are licensed and registered as child-care facilitators. They can watch your children in the evening, while you and your spouse or friends head out and enjoy those extra magic hours.

Not to sound rude, but do they smell?

Our Sherpa abide by strict hygiene codes. So to answer your question, they smell no worse than you would by carrying your own stuff around the park. But then again, they adhere to a code, and we cannot confirm your hygiene.

Is there a discount for Military Families?

At this time, no. You’re not buying a ticket or reserving a room. You are purchasing a service. Our service is no different than that of a maid service, or a car wash service.

If I don't want to purchase the Memory Maker, will my Sherpa take photos of my family?

Yes. But, our Sherpas are not professional photographers and do not have access to that “extra magic” that Disney puts on photos. It would be the equivalent of asking a family member, or stranger, to take your photo.
